Hello friend,
I won’t lie to you, this has been a difficult year. But it’s also been a year of exciting new experiences.
I wrote this comic as a bit of a Socratic dialogue to push back on my inner critic. I hope it doesn’t come off as egotistical. My intention was to remind myself of what I have accomplished, I have no doubt comics and the Vancouver Comic Jam will persevere with or without me.
Charlotte and I are happy and healthy, despite what life has thrown our way.
I started this tradition when I had very little to spend on gifts, and I find myself here again.
So, I hope this comic finds you well, despite current events.
Now seems a more important time than ever to celebrate peace, joy, and charity. I believe in my heart of hearts that community and diversity make us stronger,and anyone telling you otherwise has something to gain personally from convincing you of that.
I hope you will join me in imagining a better world.
